Book Launch for ‘Energy and Everything’ at Lindsay Village

On Friday the 17th October we held a book launch followed by morning tea in the village lounge. The event was well attended and enjoyed by all. The attendees enjoyed participating in several experiments and demonstrations designed to illustrate the scientific concepts and ideas contained in the book. Great interest was shown in how the historical ideas of ‘earth, water, air and fire’ linked to recent research into the structure of matter and quantum physics. Particle physics was demystified to some degree and quarks and gluons took their place amongst the more familiar particles making up the structure of the atom. Energy was seen as the key component linking everything together with particular reference to Einstein’s classic equation e=mc^2 . Energy is everything and everything is energy.
Several copies of the book ‘Energy and Everything’ were made available along with copies of the author’s new books recently published ‘The Runaway Universe’ and ‘Human Evolution - The Future’, which completed the trilogy of recent publications. News of two new books by the author currently under production by the team at Austin Macauley was enthusiastically received.
The scones and cream provided for morning tea were delicious and demonstrated that you really can have your cake after you have eaten and digested the interesting challenges confronting our understanding of the universe we call home.
